NV-EnergyA very special thank you to NV Energy for their continued support for our students and families at Variety Early Learning Center! Here are a few notes from some of our parents regarding the assistance they received from the generous grants made possible by NV Energy.

Re: NV Energy Scholarship
I am grateful that my daughter is a recipient of the NV Energy Scholarship in the amount of $30 a week. Due to the generosity of NV Energy, we were able to purchase a family membership pass for the Shark Reef. This experience is educational and recreational for my children and provides a great learning opportunity for my children. The additional tuition savings were used to build on her already existing library. Her library is filled with children’s books from the classic Dr. Seuss, Disney and fairy tales to the modern touch and sound books designed to stimulate visual and auditory senses.
I am a community advocate for the services provided at VELC and the passionate individuals they have working to produce the scholars of the future. I appreciate all of the wonderful educational support VELC provides for my daughter and grateful that we were chosen to receive the NV Energy Scholarship.

To whom this may concern,
I would like to inform you on how I benefited greatly from the Nevada Energy Scholarship. I was able to buy items such as: diapers, clothes, household products and a little extra food for Ava and myself. It allowed me to afford such things and still have enough money to get me through the weeks/live comfortably. With that being said, I am VERY appreciative and thankful for the opportunity to have
utilized a scholarship as such.

To Whom It May Concern:
My family and I are so grateful for the NV Energy Scholarship. Because of the scholarship, our family is able to provide for our child in ways we could not if we did not have the financial assistance. Not only that, but we are beyond blessed to be able to accept the scholarship at a daycare we feel is like a family to our son, Dean.  When we had our son over a year ago, we sold our house because we were unsure if we could provide for him. Now, a year later, we have a new home that is big enough for us to grow into if we were able to have another child. In addition, our family can afford to expand, and we can trust our day care to take care of our children. We truly appreciate your gratitude. Without it, we are not sure how our family could have managed.

Dear NV Energy,

I would like to take a moment and express. to you how appreciative I am for your generosity to my son and I. I am a proud single mother to my amazing 2 year old son Julian. He is by far the best thing that has happened to me and I am beyond blessed to call him my son. I had no Idea I was going to be doing this all on my own but it was in my son’s best interest and safety to raise him on my own. Honestly, I live tightly, paycheck to paycheck providing a safe roof over our head, as much food as I can and cloths on our backs and I am happy to do so, I will make any sacrifice to give my son the best life possible and make sure he is taken care of, feed, clothed and safe, over myself and anyone else. For my house hold, I really don’t make enough to support us, it’s so sad to admit, every penny counts, and the scholarship you have so generously given me each week allowed me to save money this year to cook two very nice dinners for my son and family on Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We don’t have much but we have each other and I wish there were more scholarships programs out there that
are willing to help the hard working single mom! Thank you from the bottom our hearts,
Jessica and Julian Mcinnis
